En el inicio de este tercer milenio, tras el fin del comunismo, el liberalismo del que el Homo americanus ha sido punta de lanza, ya no puede ocultar su verdadero rostro. Ya no puede esconder su faz inhumana tras palabras abstractas como “paz” y “progreso”. Los acontecimientos del histórico 11-S en los Estados Unidos han demostrado que el americanismo, para defender sus valores “democráticos” y su naturaleza financiera predadora, no se avergüenza de recurrir a la tortura, los campos de concentración y la vigilancia informática. Sin embargo, cuando se le compara con el comunismo, el americanismo es capaz de realizar esas prácticas totalitarias de forma mucho más insidiosa, y de forma más fácil de asimilar. Una de las ventajas del comunismo era que permitía a sus incontables víctimas distinguir entre amigo y enemigo. Sin embargo, distinguir al enemigo en la moderna y americanizada España, donde los métodos de decepción y represión han alcanzado el nivel académico, sigue siendo una tarea ardua. A duras penas si existen un puñado de auténticos rebeldes, estudiosos y académicos españoles, capaces de reconocer el carácter más oculto del americanismo y de leer entre líneas. Con su dictadura del bienestar, con su show de promiscuidad y luces brillantes, tan parecido a un carrusel sin fin, el americanismo, incluso si fracasa en su intento de destruir la existencia de lo español está matando su esencia.

In this book Dr. Tomislav Sunic describes the origins and dynamics of America's founding myths. Quoting and translating from many long-forgotten or suppressed sources from the fields of literature, history, anthropology and philosophy, the book represents an interdisciplinary compendium dealing with the topic of Americanism. Against Democracy and Equality; The European New Right was originally Sunic’s doctoral dissertation at the University of California, 1988. Later, as a book, it was published under separate cover in 1990 and 2002 (with a foreword by Paul Gottfried. The book examines the intellectual  heritage of prominent anti-egalitarian thinkers and philosophers, such as Oswald Spengler, Friedrich  Nietzsche, Vilfredo Pareto, Carl Schmitt and their influence on postmodern  thinkers in America and Europe known under the label “The European New Right.” The book will shortly be published in the Croatian translation with a new foreword by Alain de Benoist.

Tomislav Sunic is one of the leading scholars and exponents of the European New Right.
